Joint supplement ingredients have been studied in dogs. Explore the original studies and what they can, and cannot, tell us about a daily joint routine.
A randomized, blinded trial followed 127 dogs with osteoarthritis for 24 weeks. Dogs eating a food enriched with fish oil showed improvements in some owner-reported activities. The study tested a complete food with its own fatty acid concentrations.
A small, blinded trial compared a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement with carprofen. Some clinical scores improved by day 70 in the supplement group. Evidence for these ingredients is mixed, and the tested supplement and doses differ from our chews.
These studies tested different foods or supplements, not Mr. Wuff chews. Ingredients, doses and study conditions differ, so their results do not establish that our formula will produce the same effects. Joint supplements do not replace veterinary assessment or treatment.
